Patron of 2008 Emcy Awards Gala

Patron's Message

On behalf of my colleagues on City Council and the citizens of Regina, I commend organizers for developing the Emcy Awards to showcase individuals and organizations for their contribution to the celebration of cultural diversity.

Many cultures have taken root in Regina and people from around the world continue to settle here, bringing their unique customs, traditions and heritage with them. Not only have Regina's newcomers taken root, but are thriving and flourishing. This cultural diversity has enriched our community and made it a more interesting and inviting place to live, work and play.

Events such as the Emcy Awards help to ensure we achieve our City Council's long range vision for Regina to be "a city of inclusiveness and one that celebrates its cultural diversity."

I encourage everyone to attend the 2008 Emcy Award Dinner Gala in Regina in April 16, 2008.
